Your first beta session

Getting in
If you were invited, or you own the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection, the beta is on your Battle.net account. Update your graphics drivers, open the Battle.net app, choose World of Warcraft: Forever Beta under In Development in the game-version menu, install it and pick any test realm. Our beta story has the details.

What there is to play
The level cap is 20 for now and rises to 30 later in the test, which runs until October 21. Everything up to level 20 is open, including the Skyborne’s starting zone, Zephras Isle, and two of the new dungeons: the Hall of Thanes (13–18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20).

Talent resets cost 1 silver in the beta, so try more than one build. Plan them first in the talent calculator.

Before you report a bug
Read the current known issues and the latest development notes: much of what looks broken is already listed, or already fixed. Restarts and fixes are announced in Blizzard’s posts, which our blue posts follow.

A useful report gives the shortest set of steps that makes the problem happen again, where it happened, and what you expected instead. Keep what you saw apart from your guess at the cause.

Worth testing
  • Dungeons: class changes show first in a group.
  • Camping: sit at a campfire with friends and try the buffs and the objects each profession adds.
  • The Cooldown Manager: for Druids, Mages, Priests, Warriors and Warlocks so far. Turn it on under Options, Gameplay Enhancement; Blizzard most wants to hear which spells you’d like it to track from the start.
  • Gamepad play: the new class flyouts and targeting options.
