Druid Snake Form: Embrace of the Viper Guide

Snake Form is a hidden look for Cat Form. Wear all five Embrace of the Viper pieces from Wailing CavernsWailing CavernsDungeon · level 17 · 8 bossesLady Anacondra, Lord Cobrahn, Kresh, Lord Pythas, Skum, Lord Serpentis, Verdan the Everliving, Mutanus the Devourer, then shapeshift to become a serpent.

Before you start

  • Class: Druid, either faction.
  • Level: 20+, with Cat Form unlocked through its class quest.
  • Gear: all five actual set pieces equipped.

There is no separate Snake Form quest chain. The steps below are the same for Alliance and Horde.

Reach Wailing Caverns

Instance entrance: The Barrens — 47.7, 35.0, inside the caves.

Open the entrance on our map.

  • Horde: head southwest from the Crossroads.
  • Alliance: approach from Ratchet, then head west. Avoid the Crossroads’ Horde guards.
  • Both factions: enter the caves and continue to the instance portal. Bring a dungeon group at this level.

Open Wailing CavernsWailing CavernsDungeon · level 17 · 8 bossesLady Anacondra, Lord Cobrahn, Kresh, Lord Pythas, Skum, Lord Serpentis, Verdan the Everliving, Mutanus the Devourer for the dungeon map and loot.

  • Four boss pieces: bind on pickup — loot them on your Druid.
  • Gloves: bind on equip — farm Druid of the Fang enemies, trade for them, or check the Auction House.
  • Repeat runs as needed: a full set is not guaranteed in one clear.

Equip the set and shapeshift

  1. Equip the chest, belt, leggings, boots and gloves.
  2. Check that Embrace of the Viper shows 5/5.
  3. Enter Cat Form to take the snake appearance.

Use the actual equipment for this method; a permanent unlock or transmog-only activation has not been confirmed.

What changes

  • Appearance: Cat Form becomes a snake; its color varies by race.
  • Prowl: the snake lowers its body and slithers along the ground.
  • Abilities: you still use Cat Form abilities. Bear Form stays unchanged.
  • Five-piece bonus: melee attacks can trigger Dream Venom, stunning the target for 1 second.
